   About project

This project documents the history of Yosemite National Park and most importantly the impact of the Park on peoples lives. Pictures, videos, personal journals and other primary and secondary sources show the influence of nature and outdoor activity on visitors since John Muir. I examined the work of the conservationist along with Chiura Obata, Ansel Adams and many others who have visited this widley popular National Park.

All of the posts come together to show how widely popular Yosemite has become and why. All of these pieces show that the beauty and serenity of this place has impacted many peoples lives through their unique experiences. It answers the question, what explains California? This project makes it clear that exploring, learning and honoring California's great scenery has been important to this country for the past hundred years since the very beginning when people moved out West. With personal stories of how it has changed lives to eloquent quotes that somehow perfectly describe how Yosemite is almost heavenly, this project displays the parks importance.
